Privacy notice

UN Tourism is committed to processing your personal data fairly, with integrity, accountability, security and transparency. The Organization collects and processes personal data in accordance with its internal data protection rules and procedures, to the exclusion of any national legal system. 

Where personal data processing is necessary, UN Tourism will only use such data for the fulfilment of its obligations in relation to the Observatory and after consulting the same. 

UN Tourism will ensure adequate protection of personal data in accordance with its applicable rules and procedures. In this regard, personal data shall be: 

• Processed fairly, for legitimate purposes and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject. 

• Collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes and not subsequently processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes. 

• Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. 

• Accurate and, where necessary, up to date. 

• Kept in a form which enables data subjects to be identified for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed; and 

• Processed in a way that ensures appropriate security of personal data.  

In this regard, UN Tourism will comply with the Personal Data Protection and Privacy Principles adopted by the United Nations to protect the confidentiality, integrity and security of the personal data provided to it. When visiting the Observatory’s website, links may appear that may redirect you to other websites and online platforms operated by third parties. With regard to the processing of personal data, third party platforms are governed by their own privacy policies. 

UN Tourism may, at its discretion, update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes to its policies and practices. 

Nothing in this Privacy Notice shall be construed as derogating from the privileges or immunities of UN Tourism or as an acceptance by UN Tourism of the jurisdiction of the courts of any country in disputes arising out of this Notice. The processing of personal data by UN Tourism is not governed by any national or regional legal system.
