As the leading international organization in the field of tourism, it brings together 166 countries and territories, as well as over 500 affiliated members representing the private sector, academic institutions, tourism associations, and local tourism authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UN Tourism, as the leading international organization in the field of tourism, advocates for tourism that contributes to economic growth, inclusive development, and environmental sustainability. It provides leadership and support to the sector to expand its knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among its priorities, UN Tourism focuses on the recovery of international tourism following the crisis stemming from the pandemic. It also emphasizes the need to \"rethink tourism\" from all perspectives, including the legal aspect, in order to achieve clearer, more transparent, and balanced legal and regulatory frameworks for states. Additionally, it aims for progressive harmonization of tourism regulations at both regional and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, the progressive harmonization of national, regional, and international regulations applicable to tourism will help address the significant shortcomings in the current legal and regulatory frameworks of the sector.
